iPhone App: The Typography Manual
Max out your nerd-factor with this new typography application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The Typography Manual features useful resources for designers, such as a visual type anatomy glossary, a font size ruler, a style guide, standard paper and web banner sizes and an em calculator, just to name a few—all right there in your back pocket. Awesome little App! (too bad I don't have an iPhone ... someday)
Maneesh Agrawala - Automated Animation
Maneesh is a 2009 MacArthur Fellow, recognized for "designing visual interfaces that enhance our ability to understand large quantities of complex information. Working at the intersection of visualization, human-computer interaction, and computer graphics, Agrawala draws on cognitive psychology to identify the key perceptual and design principles underlying graphic illustrations. His algorithms automatically generate legible and effective designs for a variety of data types."
Some pretty interesting stuff from a visual/graphical perspective. I wonder how one could apply similar algorithms to information design, etc.

New | Starbucks VIA Read Brew, Instant Coffee
Interesting. I probably still won't be buying Starbucks coffee for home. It tastes like charbucks. The only way I have ever really enjoyed Starbucks coffee is with tons of Vietnamese cinnamon added to the grounds before brewing.
I prefer either http://cariboucoffee.com/ or http://dunnbros.com/ if I am going to get chain store coffee.
Keep caffeinated.
