Top 40 tips to help you take the very best photos | Pixel Photography

"1: Face your fears
Identify the photographic technique you’re least confident about and resolve to master it. For example, if your camera’s advanced flash modes fill you with fear, try spending just 15 or 20 minutes each day practising how to use them. This way you’ll be able to build up your confidence bit by bit, without becoming overwhelmed.
2: It’s all about you
Don’t get too hung up on equipment. Yes, it’s nice to have the best brands and the hottest technology, but ultimately a camera is just a device that captures and records light. You are the visionary. Only you make it happen.
3: Get it right in-camera
Always push yourself to achieve the perfect shot in-camera. A few extra minutes spent in the field tweaking exposures, fitting filters or refining compositions is always preferable to relying on Photoshop to bail you out. Software never produces such satisfying results."
These are great tips! As my wife and I are in the market for our own DSLR (finally time to upgrade from traditional SLR's!), we are excited to employ some of these classic reminders and tips. You can see some of my work here and here and here, oh and here too.

Twitter Trends This Morning - Really?

Several of these search topics don't make sense or register with me ... but one of them definitely sticks out. I thought to myself this morning ... really? People search for that? On Twitter?!

I guess I have a lot to learn ...

We Follow - Nice "Oops Page"

I love their "this page doesn't exist" page. Is that a Back to the Future quote, circa 1985?

It is witty, fresh, and clean design. I like it. Plus their log is nice too. I dig the color combination, and the subtle shadow and the base. Nice stuff. Funny.

Typography took a back seat in the designing of Apple's famous iPad? Interesting. I'll take his word for it. It would still be nice to have an iPad though : )

Canon EOS 500D vs 450D - Which one?

Debating between the 450D and the newer 500D. Is it worth the upgrade and the extra $150? I am swaying toward the 500D for the video and higher ISO sensitivity. But .. not sure.

I would love to hear your thoughts!

Keep your coffee/tea warm: Outdoor mug with clip grip | Stanley

I have a travel mug by Stanley that is stellar; pictured here: http://0mak0.posterous.com/good-afternoon-the-park-moleskine-more-coffee

But I have been wanting a mug that has a clip like this for a while. I had my sights set on one from REI, but they discontinued the model I liked. The newer version is hideous.

What's your favorite travel mug?

Throwback Apple Concepts - ISO50

So wild throwback concepts that Apple was working on way back in the day. With the advent of the iPad and all the hype with it, it's neat to keep it all in perspective. It is always good to look back upon where we have come from. Love these.

IKEA Catalogue - So Addicting!

I love looking at the IKEA catalogues! It is so addicting. They way they help you imagine the spaces in your apartment or home is amazing. The minimalistic utilitarian design is so ... attractive. Oh man, just totally geeking out on form & function opportunities! It makes me want to sit down and sketch out my own line of minimalistic utilitarian furniture ... and learn Swedish.

My wife and I are especially excited to look further into the countless possibilities & applications ...
